Carlos Chavez, MD Joins The Pines Surgical Team To Expand Scope Of Surgical Care And Services Offered
Caribou, Maine – Pines Health Services announced today that, Dr. Carlos Chavez has joined the professional team of surgeons at Pines which includes Dr. Julio Arebalo, Dr. Rashmi Bawa, Dr. John Nadeau and Family Nurse Practitioners Lindsay Reynolds and Michelle Deprey.
Dr. Chavez is a graduate of the San Fernando Medical School, National University of San Marcos and completed his oncologic and general surgery residency at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases in Lima, Peru. He furthered his studies and took part in a head and neck oncologic surgery fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Most recently he completed his master’s in Public Health and General Surgery residency at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA.
“Dr. Chavez is a well-received addition to the area’s medical community and to the Pines Surgical & Urology Services office located on the Cary Medical Center campus,” said Lisa Caron, Pines Chief Operating Officer. “Dr. Chavez brings over twenty one years of medical care and experience to the Cary and Pines team. In addition to his training in general surgery, Dr. Chavez has provided teaching, research and leadership related to surgical care, said Caron.”
Dr. Chavez will be scheduling surgery and planning cases in cooperation with Pines attending physicians and the highly skilled staff at Cary Medical Center. Office hours may be made by appointment through your primary care provider. Dr. Chavez will begin seeing patients at the Pines Surgical & Urology Services office mid-August.
In his spare time Dr. Chavez enjoys playing soccer and volleyball. Dr. Chavez lives in Caribou and is joined by his wife Patricia, and their 14 year old daughter, Daniela and 11 year old daughter, Luciana.
